INDIANAPOLIS TORNADOS TO HONOR LAW ENFORCEMENT
(Indianapolis)-- On June 20th, 2015, the Indianapolis Tornados will host the Columbus (OH) Gladiators and use the occasion to honor the brave men and women who “protect the streets”. The game will be played at Arsenal Tech H.S. with a kick off of 6:00 pm. Marion County Prosecutor, Terry Curry, will be on hand to conduct the coin toss.
“From the officer on the street to the prosecutor who obtains the conviction, it is sometimes easy to forget how important these people are in our society. They have tough jobs which is why our organization wanted to show appreciation”, observed Tornados GM, Grant Cameron.
In addition to offering half priced admission to all law enforcement officers and prosecutors, the Indianapolis Tornados will be raising funds for Indy Police Athletic League (PAL) club. The Mission of PAL is to involve at risk youth of Marion County in educational, cultural, and fitness activities that will deter crime, increase self-esteem, and promote a positive relationship with police.
The Tornados organization has many volunteers with ties to the Criminal Justice system. The Director of Security, Jim Grimes, is a Marion County Sheriff Deputy; the head referee, Rick Frank, is a deputy prosecutor; and the Director of Photography, Jeff Bullington is a correctional officer.
Last weekend, the Tornados (3-1) rebounded from their only loss of the season with a 48-0 drubbing of the visiting Cincinnati Hawks. Running back, Tony West (#32), scored three of the Tornados seven touchdowns and earned the Master Jeweler’s “Gem of the game” honors. Meanwhile, the Gladiators (2-2) lost a close game to the Columbus Fire by a score of 26-21.
The Indianapolis Tornados offer fun, affordable, family-friendly football entertainment throughout the summer. The regular price of admission is $10 while kids aged 12 and under get in free. For more information, please visit the website at www.indianapolistornados.com .
