For the past three years, the Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police has taken significant steps to invest in the youth of Indianapolis. One of the many projects the Indy FOP has supported is the Summer Youth Jobs Initiative.
As a result, President Rick Snyder spoke before the participants in the “Clean for Green” Youth Jobs for Summer. President Snyder spoke of the value of today’s youth in the future of our City. President Snyder made clear the police officers throughout Indianapolis not only want to protect our City, but also want to invest in our most precious resource…our children, they are our future.
President Snyder explained, “Each of you matter to us, we love you and want you to succeed in all that you do in life.”
A check was also presented to the project’s leader, Pastor James Jackson, who has spearheaded the summer project five years ago and continues to find innovative ways to engage the youth of our City. This year’s contribution brings the Indy FOP’s total investment thus far to $15,000 just for this effort alone and is another part of the Lodge’s overall Youth Education and Outreach efforts.
