FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JULY 27, 2017
INDIANAPOLIS--On Thursday, July 27, 2017, the Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #86 sadly learned of the passing of IMPD Deputy Chief, James Waters.
FOP President, Rick Snyder, issued the following statement:
"Our collective Indianapolis policing community is deeply saddened by the passing of IMPD Deputy Chief, James Waters. Jim is a good man and failthfully served and protected our community for many years up to his death. I will miss his enduring smile and his optimism for our neighborhoods and for those who serve and protect our residents. We ask those within Indianapolis and beyond to take a moment and pray for God's peace for Chief Waters and his family; Jim would also want us to focus on our families, friends, and our neighbors."
The Fraternal Order of Police stands ready to support the Waters family and Jim's extended law enforcement family on this journey to ensure they will not walk alone.
